Description

A dollar from the Denver Mint, the 2020 (D) Presidential Dollar - George H.W. Bush, Position B belongs to the Presidential Dollars 2007 to Date series. The obverse features rotating portraits of each U.S. president in order of service and the reverse displays the Statue of Liberty. The forty-first President (1989–1993), George H.W. Bush led an international coalition to victory in the Gulf War and presided over the peaceful end of the Cold War, including the fall of the Berlin Wall. His coin was authorized separately, by Public Law 116-112 of January 27, 2020. George H.W. Bush was honored posthumously following his death in 2018. The coin was issued in limited quantities as a collector-only release. Coined at Denver's facility, which transitioned from processing Colorado gold rush metal to full-scale coin production in 1906. Struck in 88.5% copper, 6% zinc, 3.5% manganese and 2% nickel, weighing 8.1 grams, 26.5 mm in diameter, with a lettered edge. Cataloged as PCGS #848388.
