About This Coin
The 2020 Native American Dollar is a United States dollar from the Sacagawea & Native American Dollars 2000 to Date series — 21st of 27 years in the series. In 2020, coins were struck at the San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Denver Mints. The obverse features Sacagawea carrying her infant son Jean Baptiste Crapeau on her back and the reverse displays rotating designs honoring Native American contributions to the United States. The 2020 Native American Dollar honors Elizabeth Peratrovich of the Tlingit Nation, whose testimony helped pass Alaska's Anti-Discrimination Act of 1945, the first state anti-discrimination law in the U.S. The Elizabeth Peratrovich and the Alaska Anti-Discrimination Law reverse highlighted Native civil rights. Struck in 77% copper, 12% zinc, 1% other over a pure copper core, 26.5 mm in diameter. Struck one year after the 2019 key date, the lowest-mintage regular issue in the series. Across its variants, estimated values range from $1 to $10 depending on mint mark, grade, and strike type. A notable auction result reached $2.0K in MS70 grade at eBay. Designed by Glenna Goodacre (obverse) / various reverse designers.
