- Discovered by Kenneth D. Swaim Cross References: None known Comments: This 2017-P cent is quite intriguing. There certainly is an extension of the left most vertical bar of the shield down into the top of the N in ONE. But is it a doubled die??? The one aspect of the extension that worries me is the apparent die abrasions on the lower part of that vertical bar and the extension south. It could be a doubled die from a tilted hub that was detected and then the abrasion took place to try to eliminate the errant hubbing. I believe it could also be argued that it might be a counterclash that Mint die workers tried to remove evidence of. It looks too good to be just a die gouge.
