Description
The 2016 (P) Presidential Dollar - Ronald Reagan, Position B is a dollar produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the Presidential Dollars 2007 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 10.9 million examples, making this ranked 11th of 12 mint variants by mintage, with 10% of production. The obverse features rotating portraits of each U.S. president in order of service, released four per year and the reverse displays the Statue of Liberty. The fortieth President (1981–1989), Ronald Reagan was a former Hollywood actor who championed tax cuts, deregulation, and a military buildup credited with helping end the Cold War. He survived an assassination attempt in 1981. Nixon, Ford, and Reagan were released — only three coins this year, as George H.W. Bush was still living and program rules excluded living presidents. Struck at the original U.S. Mint facility, in continuous operation since 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $1 to $12 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 77% copper, 12% zinc, 1% other over a pure copper core, weighing 8.1 grams, 26.5 mm in diameter, with a lettered edge. Cataloged as PCGS #599469.
