Description
The 2016 (D) Presidential Dollar - Ronald Reagan, Position A is a dollar produced at the Denver Mint as part of the Presidential Dollars 2007 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 9.3 million examples, making this ranked 9th of 12 mint variants by mintage, with 9% of production. The obverse features rotating portraits of each U.S. president in order of service, released four per year and the reverse displays the Statue of Liberty. The fortieth President (1981–1989), Ronald Reagan was a former Hollywood actor who championed tax cuts, deregulation, and a military buildup credited with helping end the Cold War. He survived an assassination attempt in 1981. Nixon, Ford, and Reagan were released — only three coins this year, as George H.W. Bush was still living and program rules excluded living presidents. Struck at the Denver Mint, established in 1906 from an earlier assay office that processed Colorado gold rush metal. Estimated market value ranges from $1 to $12 depending on grade and condition.
