Description

The 2016 (P) Presidential Dollar - Gerald R. Ford, Position A is a dollar produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the Presidential Dollars 2007 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 8.5 million examples, making this ranked 5th of 12 mint variants by mintage, with 8% of production. The obverse features rotating portraits of each U.S. president in order of service, released four per year and the reverse displays the Statue of Liberty. Nixon, Ford, and Reagan were released — only three coins this year, as George H.W. Bush was still living and program rules excluded living presidents. Struck at the original U.S. Mint facility, in continuous operation since 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $1 to $12 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 77% copper, 12% zinc, 1% other over a pure copper core, weighing 8.1 grams, 26.5 mm in diameter, with a lettered edge. Cataloged as PCGS #599464.
