Description

Struck as a Position A Presidential Dollar — meaning the edge lettering reads normally when the coin is held with the obverse facing up — the 2014 Philadelphia Calvin Coolidge WDDR-001 shows doubling on the Statue of Liberty reverse at the intersection of the second ray clockwise from Liberty's head and her right arm. Presidential Dollars, issued from 2007 through 2016 to honor each deceased president, feature a common Statue of Liberty reverse designed by Don Everhart. Coolidge, the 30th president, served from 1923 to 1929. The manganese-brass clad composition gives these coins their distinctive golden color, and the edge-incused lettering — carrying the date, mintmark, and E PLURIBUS UNUM — distinguishes Position A from Position B orientation.
