Description

The 2013 (S) Proof Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial Quarter is a proof quarter struck at the San Francisco Mint, part of the America the Beautiful Quarters 2010-2021 series. The San Francisco Mint struck 947,815 clad proof Perry's Victory quarters dated 2013. The obverse features George Washington facing left, based on a 1786 bust by Jean-Antoine Houdon and the reverse displays unique designs featuring national parks and sites from each state and territory. The reverse shows a statue of Master Commandant Oliver Hazard Perry, with the Peace Memorial column behind it. Inscriptions: PERRY’S VICTORY, OHIO, 2013 and E PLURIBUS UNUM. White Mountain (NH), Perry's Victory (OH), Great Basin (NV), Fort McHenry (MD), and Mount Rushmore (SD) were released. As a proof issue, this coin was struck multiple times on specially prepared polished planchets using polished dies, producing mirror-like fields and frosted design elements prized by collectors. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, established during the California Gold Rush and now primarily producing proof and collector coins. Estimated market value ranges from $0.25 to $26 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 75% copper, 25% nickel over a pure copper center, weighing 5.67 grams, 24.3 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #516825.
