Description

The 2013 (S) Proof Fort McHenry National Park - Silver Quarter is a proof quarter struck at the San Francisco Mint, part of the America the Beautiful Quarters 2010-2021 series. The U.S. Mint produced 467,691 examples. The obverse features George Washington facing left, based on a 1786 bust by Jean-Antoine Houdon, while the reverse displays unique designs featuring national parks and sites from each state and territory. Designed by John Flanagan/Joseph Menna. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 6.3 grams, 24.3 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #516830. The America the Beautiful Quarters Program (2010-2021) continued the legacy of rotating reverse designs, featuring national parks, monuments, forests, and historic sites. The program included both standard clad quarters and special 5 oz. silver bullion versions. Silver proof and First Day of Issue specimens are popular with collectors.
