The 2013 (S) Mount Rushmore National Park Quarter, struck at the San Francisco Mint, is part of the America the Beautiful Quarters 2010-2021 collection. The U.S. Mint produced 1.4 million examples, making this ranked 3rd of 15 mint variants by mintage, with less than 1% of production. The obverse features George Washington facing left, based on a 1786 bust by Jean-Antoine Houdon and the reverse displays unique designs featuring national parks and sites from each state and territory. The reverse depicts workers adding sculptural details to Thomas Jefferson's face, showing the monument during construction. Mount Rushmore features the 60-foot carved faces of Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt, and Lincoln. White Mountain (NH), Perry's Victory (OH), Great Basin (NV), Fort McHenry (MD), and Mount Rushmore (SD) were released. The Mount Rushmore quarter was among the most popular issues in the series.
