Description
The 2012 (P) Burnished Denali National Park 5 oz Silver is a special strike coin struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the 5 oz. America the Beautiful Silver Quarters 2010 to Date series. With a mintage of 15,225, this is a scarce issue — ranked 3rd of 5 mint variants by mintage, with 19% of production. The obverse features George Washington facing left, based on a 1786 bust by Jean-Antoine Houdon and the reverse displays unique designs featuring national parks and sites — struck in 5 ounces of .999 fine silver at a massive 76.2mm diameter. The reverse depicts a Dall sheep on a rocky outcrop with Denali in the background.
