Description
The 2010 (D) Yosemite National Park Quarter is a quarter produced at the Denver Mint as part of the America the Beautiful Quarters 2010-2021 series. The U.S. Mint produced 34.8 million examples, making this ranked 5th of 10 mint variants by mintage, with 10% of production. The obverse features George Washington facing left, based on a 1786 bust by Jean-Antoine Houdon and the reverse displays unique designs featuring national parks and sites from each state and territory. The reverse depicts El Capitan, the massive 3,000-foot granite monolith. Yosemite National Park in California's Sierra Nevada is renowned for its dramatic granite cliffs, towering waterfalls, and giant sequoia groves. Inaugural year featuring Hot Springs (AR), Yellowstone (WY), Yosemite (CA), Grand Canyon (AZ), and Mount Hood (OR). Strong collector enthusiasm drove high first-year demand for both circulating and silver proof versions. Struck at the Denver Mint, established in 1906 from an earlier assay office that processed Colorado gold rush metal. Estimated market value ranges from $0 to $1 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 75% copper, 25% nickel over a pure copper center, weighing 5.67 grams, 24.3 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #418818.
