Description
PC-100c-2009P-01 is a pre-cud on the 2009 Philadelphia William Henry Harrison Presidential Dollar, cataloged by Cuds on Coins. Presidential Dollar edge lettering was applied in a separate operation after the obverse and reverse were struck, meaning the pre-cud — a rim fracture on the obverse or reverse die — exists independently of the edge lettering process. Because the lettering was added afterwards in random orientation, the same pre-cud occurs with Position A and Position B edges. Pre-cuds represent die cracks at an early stage where the rim section is cracked but not yet detached, producing a raised ridge rather than a featureless mass.
