2007 Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-015

Description

Found on the 2007-P Wyoming State Quarter, WDDR-015 shows close doubling on the bucking bronco's mane and on the left side of the first lock of hair just below the saddle horn. The Wyoming quarter's dynamic rodeo design, depicting a cowboy atop a bucking horse against a frontier landscape, provides distinctive design elements where hub doubling can manifest in organic, flowing lines. Cross-referenced as Crawford CDDR-010 and CONECA 16-R-VIII, this variety is attributed by the Wexler Team. Obverse die markers include a small die gouge to the right of the upper first T in STATES and another to the right of the center of the M in AMERICA. On the reverse, a light die scratch runs northeast from the lower left B to the center of the U in PLURIBUS. The State Quarter program produced enormous mintages at both Philadelphia and Denver, and varieties from this series remain accessible to cherrypickers searching through bank rolls and bags. The horse's mane provides an effective diagnostic area because the flowing hair lines amplify even subtle hub misalignment into visible separation.
