Description

The fourth and final parent combination for WDDR-008, this listing covers the Position B satin finish 2007-P George Washington Presidential Dollar. The doubling appears at the same location as on all WDDR-008 specimens — the intersection of the second clockwise ray from Liberty's head and her right arm on the Statue of Liberty reverse. Position B edge lettering reads normally when the reverse faces up, and the satin finish identifies this coin as originating from a 2005-2010 United States Mint uncirculated set, where blanks were burnished and struck with specially textured dies to create a distinctive matte luster. Obverse die markers include a small die gouge near the rim above the G in GEORGE and a short die crack running west to east north-northeast of Washington's left eye (viewer's right). No significant reverse markers have been documented. The Wexler Variety ID 2007-P $1 SF GW WDDR-008 applies, with the SF prefix denoting Satin Finish production. Collectors assembling a complete WDDR-008 set need all four combinations: Position A and B in both regular and satin finish strikes.
