Description
The 2007 (P) Desegregation Dollar is a commemorative dollar struck at the Philadelphia Mint. The Philadelphia Mint struck 66,093 uncirculated Little Rock Central High School Desegregation dollars dated 2007. Authorized to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the desegregation of Little Rock Central High School in 1957, when nine African American students braved violent mobs to attend the previously all-white school. The obverse features the feet and legs of the 'Little Rock Nine' students accompanied by a soldier, with nine stars above, while the reverse displays Little Rock Central High School as it appeared in 1957. Designed by Richard Masters/Don Everhart. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 26.73 grams, 38.1 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #149569.
