The obverse features the Statue of Liberty facing forward, while the reverse displays an eagle soaring over the sunrise. Designed by John M. Mercanti (obverse) / Thomas D. Rogers Sr. (reverse). Struck in 99.95% platinum, weighing 3.11 grams, 16.5 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. The tenth-ounce American Platinum Eagle is the smallest denomination in the Platinum Eagle family, containing 1/10 troy ounce of .9995 fine platinum. Available from 1997 to 2008 in bullion format. The most affordable entry into the Platinum Eagle series. Bullion versions were produced from 1997 to 2008.
