The 2000 American Eagle Ten Dollar Platinum is a United States platinum coin from the American Eagle Ten Dollar Platinum 1997 to Date series. In 2000 the Mint sold 34,027 bullion coins struck at Philadelphia and 15,651 proofs struck at West Point. The obverse features the Statue of Liberty facing forward; the bullion reverse displays an eagle soaring over the sunrise, and the proof reverse an eagle flying over a Midwestern field with a barn and a farmhouse. Struck in 99.95% platinum, weighing 3.11 grams, 16.5 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Designed by John M. Mercanti (obverse) and Thomas D. Rogers Sr. (bullion reverse), with the proof reverse by Al Maletsky.
