1994 Radical MAD Die Clash MDC-1C-1994-03
Error
Description
With the coin and photographs courtesy of Billy Crawford, MDC-1c-1994-03 documents a radical MAD die clash on the 1994 Philadelphia Lincoln cent that appears just below the date. The overlay analysis shows the position of the reverse die when it clashed with the obverse die, revealing the geometry of the misalignment at the moment of contact. A die gouge visible above the VDB designer's initials serves as an identification marker for this particular die, providing a reliable attribution point beyond the clash marks themselves. This is the third cataloged MAD die clash for the 1994-P Lincoln cent, and together the three entries document distinct misalignment events — each involving a different combination of offset direction, rotation, and tilt — that occurred across separate die pairs during the year's production run. Cataloged by MadDieClashes as MDC-1c-1994-03.
