Description
RRDC-1c-1992-01R records a 1992 Lincoln Memorial cent from the Philadelphia Mint with a bisecting rim to rim die crack on the reverse. Cuds on Coins catalogs it on its page of rim-to-rim die cracks, where 01 is the sequence number for the date and the trailing R stands for the reverse die. A bisecting crack travels across the die face from one rim point to another, cutting through the design, and strikes up as a raised line. The design on either side should sit level and in line: a crack that has opened more than half a millimetre is a split die, and a section that has broken free and moved is a retained cud.
