Description
The 1984 (W) Los Angeles Olympiad Commemorative Ten Dollar Gold is a dollar produced at the West Point Mint as part of the Modern Commemorative Ten Dollar Gold (1984-2003) series. The U.S. Mint produced 75,886 examples. The obverse features designs varying by commemorative issue, while the reverse displays designs varying by commemorative issue. Designed by John M. Mercanti, James Peed. Struck in 90% gold, 10% copper, weighing 16.72 grams, 26.92 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #9613. Modern commemorative ten-dollar gold coins have been produced for select programs since 1984, struck in higher gold content than the five-dollar issues.. Extremely limited production makes these among the most exclusive modern U.S. commemoratives.
