Class II Distorted Hub Doubling shows prominently on E PLURIBUS UNUM, AMERICA, the second O of MONTICELLO, and the right side of the building on this 1982 San Francisco Proof Jefferson Nickel. Because the doubling occurred on the working hub itself, this same doubling potentially transferred to every working die created from that hub, making die markers variable among individual working dies rather than fixed to a single pair.
