Description
CCL(TI)-1c-1970D-01 This 1970D Lincoln cent shows evidence of at least two die clash events and possibly three, which resulted in a counter clash (Type I). The first clash event is indicated by the black arrow ( the Y of LIBERTY). The second event obliterated most of the first clash event’s clash marks and can be seen indicated by the while arrows. Notice the offset of position between the two clash marks left by the Y of LIBERTY. Due to this offset, an extra column to the right of the second column was formed. This is the counter clash and is indicated by the green arrows. The last clash mark seen in bay four maybe from an older clash event. This clash die was found by Joe Koelling.
