Description
The 1969 (S) Jefferson Nickel is a nickel produced at the San Francisco Mint as part of the Jefferson Nickels Original Design 1938-2003 series. The U.S. Mint produced 123.0 million examples, making this the lower-mintage of the two mint variants. The obverse features Thomas Jefferson facing left and the reverse displays Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's Virginia estate. Standard production from Philadelphia and Denver with healthy mintages. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, established during the California Gold Rush and now primarily producing proof and collector coins.
