1967 Doubled Die Obverse DDO-010

Description

Cataloged by VarietyVista with identifiers UVC-334 and DMR-021, this 1967 Kennedy Half Dollar doubled die obverse exhibits light triple spread on the date alongside medium doubling on IN GOD WE TRUST, the RTY of LIBERTY, and hair beneath the R of LIBERTY. Four die stages trace the die's deterioration: Stage A represents early die state, unconfirmed. Stage B introduces light north-south die scratches in front of Kennedy's profile at mid die state, with the reverse also at mid die state. Stage C advances both sides to late die state. Stage D marks very late die state with a die crack and chip on the bust west of WE and a die crack in the upper hair, while the reverse similarly reaches very late die state. This business strike from Philadelphia circulated during the silver-clad transitional period.
