1966 Kennedy Half Dollar - Variety WWHO-002

Description

1966 WWHO-002 is a doubled working hub obverse on the 1966 Kennedy half dollar, cataloged by the Wexler team. The back of the head and neck are strongly doubled, and so is the lower profile: neck, chin and lips. There is doubling as well on the designer's initials, the ear's back edge and the hair details just right of the upper ear, and IN GOD WE TRUST (IGWT) shows a close spread. Wexler notes the obverse and reverse die markers differ from one working die to the next. Wexler credits various individuals with submitting it and lists no cross-references. Per Wexler, the fastest way to tell WWHO-002 from WWHO-001 is the hair just right of the upper ear: WWHO-001 shows barely any doubling there, while on WWHO-002 that hair is strongly doubled.
