Description
The 1965 Lincoln Memorial Cent is a cent produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the Lincoln Memorial Cents 1959-2008 series. The U.S. Mint produced 1.5 billion examples, making this the higher-mintage of the two mint variants, representing 100% of production. The obverse features Abraham Lincoln facing right and the reverse displays the Lincoln Memorial building in Washington, D.C.. Mint marks were removed from all U.S. coins under the Coinage Act of 1965. Special Mint Set cents replaced traditional proofs. Struck at the original U.S. Mint facility, in continuous operation since 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $0 to $1 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 95% copper, 5% zinc, weighing 3.11 grams, 19 mm in diameter, with a plain edge. Cataloged as PCGS #2894.
