Description
The 1964 (D) Peace Dollar is a dollar produced at the Denver Mint as part of the Peace Dollars 1921-1935 series. The obverse features a youthful Liberty facing left wearing a radiate crown, designed after sculptor Anthony de Francisci's wife Teresa and the reverse displays a bald eagle perched on a rock above the word PEACE, with rays of sunlight. Minted during the post-war economic boom, the final era of silver circulating coinage in the United States before the Coinage Act of 1965. Auction record: $2,253 MS64 08-06-2023 eBay.
