Description

From the final year of Franklin Half Dollar production before the series gave way to the Kennedy Half in 1964, the 1963 Proof DDO-028 captures a strong doubled die obverse on what would become a terminal-year issue. Cataloged as UVC-300 with DMR-046, this proof variety shows strong spread on the date, WE TRUST, and BERTY. Three die stages trace the die's working life: Stage A in early die state, Stage B at mid-die state, and Stage C in late die state.
