Ranking among the most visually dramatic entries in the 1961 Proof Lincoln Memorial Cent DDR series, WDDR-025 is characterized by a very strong Class II spread towards the center that affects an unusually wide array of reverse design elements: the letters of USA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, the dots, the designer's initials FG, the letters of ONE CENT, and both sides of the Memorial building. The classification as "very strong" in the Wexler system signals that this variety's centripetal displacement is among the widest recorded for the 1961 Proof date, with the secondary hub impression shifted far enough inward to produce clearly separated doubling across the full breadth of the reverse design. The involvement of the Memorial building on both its left and right sides — in addition to virtually every reverse inscription — indicates a uniform, broad-based distortion event during hubbing that left few areas of the die face unaffected. No obverse die markers have been noted. The reverse carries four diagnostics: a die scratch on the left base of the Memorial under the first column, a die scratch on the lower left corner of the E in CENT, a small die gouge on the lower right of the N in CENT, and a vertical die scratch in the upper first Memorial bay. Cataloged by the Wexler Team as 1961 1¢ Pr WDDR-025 with no known cross-references, this Proof variety's combination of very strong spread, comprehensive design-element coverage, and multiple reverse die markers makes it one of the premier doubled die reverse targets for collectors of 1961 Lincoln Memorial cent varieties.
