The 1949 (D) Roosevelt Dime, struck at the Denver Mint, is part of the Roosevelt Silver Dimes 1946-1964 collection. The Denver Mint struck 26,034,000 dimes dated 1949. The obverse features Franklin D. Roosevelt facing left, honoring the president who championed the March of Dimes and the reverse displays a torch flanked by olive and oak branches, symbolizing liberty, peace, and strength. Denver's mint evolved from a frontier assay office into one of the nation's primary coin production facilities, opening in 1906.
