Description
A close Class II spread towards the center shows on the upper left wheat ear, the E of EPU, and the UNIT of UNITED. Slight extra thickness shows on the first dot. Die Markers: Obverse: Numerous die scratches extend north from the ERT of LIBERTY. A short, strong die scratch extends NNW from the top of the 9. A strong die gouge runs north to south just to the right of Lincoln’s beard. Reverse: A die scratch runs NNW from the lower left E of ONE. Four parallel die scratches run south from the lower right wheat ear and stem. Two parallel die scratches run north to south through the left wheat stem. Obverse:
