Description

A spread to the south shows on the date, the letters of LIBERTY, Lincoln's bowtie, the lower ear, and his eyelid. Slight doubling also shows on the letters of IGWT. Die Markers: Obverse: A short die gouge can be found to the right of the upper D in GOD. Die scratches run from WNW to ESE just above the head. Die scratches run from north to south through the 5 in the date. Reverse: Two die scratches run through the lower A in STATES. Parallel die scratches run from SSW to NNE between the TE in UNITED and the E in CENT. A die scratch runs NNW from the upper left E in CENT. A die scratch runs from SW to NE to the right of the T in CENT. A die scratch runs through the lower US in PLURIBUS to the right dot. Obverse:
