The 1944 Philippine Five Centavos is a United States cent from the Philippines Five Centavos 1903-1945 series — a late issue, 24th of 25 years in the series. In 1944, coins were struck at the San Francisco Mint. The obverse features a male figure seated beside a hammer and anvil and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Produced during World War II, when the Mint altered coin compositions to conserve strategic metals for the war effort. A notable auction result reached $5.8K in MS67+ grade at Heritage Auctions.
