The 1908 Philippine Five Centavos is a United States cent from the Philippines Five Centavos 1903-1945 series — an early issue, 5th of 25 years in the series. The obverse features a male figure seated beside a hammer and anvil and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Produced during the Progressive Era, when President Theodore Roosevelt championed a renaissance in American coin design that produced some of the most beautiful coins ever struck. Struck in copper-nickel. A notable auction result reached $4.3K in PR67 grade at Heritage Auctions. Designed by Melecio Figueroa.
