The 1903 Philippine Five Centavos is a United States cent from the Philippines Five Centavos 1903-1945 series — the first year of the series. The obverse features a male figure seated beside a hammer and anvil and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Produced during the Progressive Era, when President Theodore Roosevelt championed a renaissance in American coin design that produced some of the most beautiful coins ever struck.
