Description

The 1934-M Philippine Five Centavos Allen-5.04aa DDR & RP1 was struck at the Manila Mint as a five centavos coin in the Philippines Five Centavos 1903-1945 series. In 1930 the Manila Mint began a smaller five-centavo piece, about 19 mm across instead of the earlier size, in the same copper-nickel alloy and with the same designs. It was struck at Manila from 1930 to 1932 and in 1934 and 1935, each coin with an M beside the date. PCGS lists this die variety as Allen-5.04aa, "DDO & RP1": the doubling shows on AMERICA and the 1 of the date is repunched, both on the side with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the date, which PCGS calls the obverse and this catalog the reverse; Greysheet gives the same PCGS number as Allen-5.04a, FS-301. Catalogue numbers: KM-175, Allen-5.04aa. PCGS number 502235.
