The obverse features a male figure seated beside a hammer and anvil and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield, with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Struck during the Great Depression, when mintages dropped sharply and the United States abandoned the gold standard in 1933. Struck in bronze.
