About This Coin
The 1905 Philippine Centavo is a United States cent from the Philippines Centavos 1903-1945 series — an early issue, 3rd of 36 years in the series. The obverse features a male figure seated beside a hammer and anvil and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield, with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Produced during the Progressive Era, when President Theodore Roosevelt championed a renaissance in American coin design that produced some of the most beautiful coins ever struck. Struck in bronze. A notable auction result reached $1.1K in PR65BN grade at Stack's Bowers. Designed by Melecio Figueroa.
