Description
The 1921 Pilgrim Half Dollar is a commemorative half dollar struck at the Philadelphia Mint. The Philadelphia Mint's net mintage of Pilgrim half dollars dated 1921 was 20,053. Authorized to mark the 300th anniversary of the Pilgrims' landing at Plymouth Rock in 1620. The obverse features governor William Bradford standing in full Pilgrim attire, holding a Bible, while the reverse displays the Mayflower under full sail. Designed by Cyrus E. Dallin. The 1921 re-issue, distinguished by the addition of the date on the obverse, had a net mintage of 20,053. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 12.5 grams, 30.6 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #9360. The 1921 version has the date 1921 added on the obverse. Together they represent an important chapter in early American history.
