The 1893 Proof Isabella Quarter is a proof quarter struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Classic Silver Commemoratives (1892-1954) series. With a mintage of only 103, this is an extremely rare issue. The obverse features designs varying by commemorative issue, each authorized by an individual act of Congress, while the reverse displays designs varying by commemorative issue. Designed by Charles E. Barber. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 6.25 grams, 24.3 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #9221. Classic Silver Commemoratives (1892-1954) were half dollars and occasional other denominations struck to honor people, places, and events in American history. A rich and diverse series that spans over 60 years of American history. Many issues had very low mintages and are highly sought after. The complete set is a significant numismatic achievement.
