Description
The 1909 Doubled Die Reverse DDR-009 is a doubled die reverse (DDR) variety, where die hubbing misalignment produced visible doubling on the reverse design. This variety was discovered on the 1909 Lincoln Wheat Cent - VDB, part of the Lincoln Wheat Cents 1909-1958 series. Die markers: UVC-3132 DMR-018 Stage A: Die scratch diagonally through ME of AMERICA – EMDS Die chip partially fills upper R of LIBERTY – EMDS Die chip in hair Southwest of earlobe Die crack along bust line Die clash in font of date Stage B: MDS (unconfirmed) Stage C: LDS (unconfirmed). Reverse is RDV-003 (No V.D.B.).
