1908 Indian Head Cent Misplaced Date FS-301 Snow-4

Description

This 1908 Indian Head cent displays a Misplaced Date variety designated FS-301 (Snow-4). The date can be seen repunched in the lower denticles below its final position. During die preparation, the date punch was accidentally struck too low, leaving impressions of the date digits in the denticle area before the date was correctly positioned. The partial date visible in the denticles is the key diagnostic for this variety.
