Description
1902-O VAM-5A Near Date, High O, Die Scratches Eagle's Breast Revised 2009 5A (revised) III2 3 - C4b (Near Date, High O, Die Scratches Eagle's Breast ) (181) Obverse III2 3 - Slightly doubled Liberty head profile from forehead down to chin. Reverse C4b - Numerous thin vertical die scratches on eagle's breast from neck down to tail feathers. Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: 1902-O VAM-76, 1902-O VAM-76A, 1902-O VAM-60, 1902-O VAM-5A Comments: Note that the 1902-O VAM-76, 1902-O VAM-76A, 1902-O VAM-60 & 1902-O VAM-5A (in that order) share the exact same reverse and different obverse dies (except the 76 & 76A). The long scratches on Eagle's upper tail feathers occurred during the VAM-76 die pairing. So VAM-76 coins exist without the feather scratches.
