Description
=1902-O VAM-11 Doubled Reverse= Discovered by Maurice Dubreuil, January 1977. Revised 2009 & 2014. 11 (revised) III2 1 - C4h (Doubled Reverse) Obverse III2 1 - Closed 9. ''Die marker'' - Line below B in Liberty. Reverse C4h - Outer portion doubled with letters doubled towards rim and some in to coin center for all legend letters, stars, tops of motto letters and outside edge of right. Same hub doubling as on VAM 26 C4l . III O mint mark set slightly to right. ''Die marker'' - Polishing line on leaves above N in ONE. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: LVA Comments: In a letter from November 25, 2014, Leroy writes to Alan Scott: "Date at edge of normal lateral position - not quite at near denticle space. Hub dblg rev with tripled N serif. No dbld profile. O m/m at edge of normal tolerance in height position - top of O at horizontal line from left & rt inner folds of ribbon which I use as demarcation line. O m/m has slight tilt to rt but within normal tolerance. So with normal obv & hub dlbd rev is VAM 11 with O m/m set slightly rt. Don't know if you want to keep track of all hub dbld rev of 02 O, likely dozens of them. Some have die markers for VAM 26 and 45 and others, but VAM 11 is generic variety with only hub dbld rev. Used your die marker for obv and rev in case you need to keep track of these generic dies. Grading services don't attribute normal generic dies & not sure collectors are interested in generic normal varieties that can only be identified by die markers. Anyway, marked-up Supplement VAM 11 listing for Die 1 die markers of line below B in LIBERTY and line in leaves above N in ONE."
