Reverse C3b- Mint mark tilted right. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # Date does not appear to be Near as shown in the pictures. # All of the photos below supposedly of VAM-6 were posted to VAMWorld years ago. These photos show a coin that was subsequently listed in 2018 by Leroy Van Allen as 1900-O VAM-65 and VAM-65A and submitted by Roger Beckner. After the listing was made and questions arose, Roger Beckner re-submitted his VAM-65A for re-evaluation. According to Beckner, Leroy Van Allen stated that it was not a VAM-6 and the 2018 listing remains valid. # The VAM-6 has never been updated since its listing in 1968. A search of all update listings fails to mention one. Leroy Van Allen's and George Mallis' "Encyclopedia of Morgan and Peace Dollars" list the VAM-6 as III2 6 C3b (O Tilted Right) with a reed count of 189, I3 R5. There is no verbage of obverse and reverse attributes. # Someone updated the VAMWorld listing for VAM-6 at some time long ago. A search for an update letter from Leroy to justify the update has been unproductive. Attribution of VAM-6 coins by using these descriptions and photos is at your own risk. # VAM 6 was eliminated due to the confusion surrounding what it actually is. There are no official photos and no specification for either die beyond the die names, and the obverse die name changed from III2 2 to III2 6 with the release of the 3rd edition VAM book.
