=1897-P VAM-11 Low Date= Discovery 2010 Eliminated May 2024. Duplicate of VAM 7 11 III2 10- C3a (Low Date) (190) Obverse III2 10 - Date set low and at left edge of normal lateral position. DPIS - ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # There seems to be confusion between VAM 11 and 1897-P VAM-7. As there are pictures from Leroy Van Allen for VAM 11 and not VAM 7, we can't be sure that VAM 7 and VAM 11 aren't the same (It appears they ARE the same). 455px This one has die polishing lines in LIBERTY: 640px 640px There are a number of die cracks on the reverse. This one runs from the rim through TATES and the wing and into the field: 640px Another runs from S in STATES through the eagle's right wing to the top leaf of the left wreath. Karschner “started collecting in 1980. "A friend owned a coin shop in my home town and sold the coin shop to me after he moved to North Carolina,” Jerry relates. He “also had an insurance agency at the time.” “I own a seven-passenger twin engine Aero Commander airplane and the model name of the plane is a SHRIKE,” Karschner says proudly.
