Description
=1896-P VAM-6 Near Date, Doubled 6= Discovered by Guy Messing, June 1975. 6 III2 6 C3a (Near Date, Doubled 6) (190) Obverse III2 6 - 6 in date doubled at top outside of upper loop as thick curved line and at top outside of lower loop as a short thin line. Doubling is set higher and is thicker than VAM-2. Date set further left than normal. DPIS - ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # Note the cracks on the reverse of the VAM-6 LDS LFCP below. Displaced field breaks are simply die wear across a die crack. If there's a chip/break between the IT, the coin is VAM-6B. No chip/break, then it's a VAM-6.
