Description

Discovery August 2022, Michael Dustin III2 4 • C3a (Doubled Stars & Eye, Very Near Low Date, Gouges Cap) (?) Obverse III2 4 - Gouge in cap through cotton leaf and cap fold. Gouges in field around N in UNUM polished or faded from die. Reverse C3a - Different die from VAMs 4 and 4A, no crack above STATES. ''Die Marker'' - No horizontal line in upper tail feathers next to eagle's left leg. DPIS - RH2/LH4 ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # The exact same pair of dies was used to produce the 1896-P VAM-4 & 1896-P VAM-4A. # The exact same obverse die that produced the 1896-P VAM-4 & 1896-P VAM-4A was also used to produce the 1896-P VAM-4B. The VAM-4B was produced with a different reverse die.
