1896-P VAM-12 Near Slanted Date Discovered by Bill Deterline, July 1978. Revised 2019 by Andrew Wojtowich. 12 (revised) III2 12 • C3a (Near Slanted Date) (189) Obverse III2 12 - Date set further left than normal and slanted with 1 close to rim. Die 2 - Die marker - Some horizontal die polishing lines at neck rear. Reverse C3a - Die 2 - Die marker - Fine slanted die polishing lines wing-neck gap. DPIS - Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: Curved gouge on eagle's right wing, 9 feathers up from bottom in the inner feathers toward the body (VAM1C).
